Roll Call – Councilor Jacobs, McNabb, Hunter, Dempsey, Mayor Lattimore - Present.

City Staff Present – John Salomone, City Manager; Tom Leone, Corporation Counsel; Debra McCormick, City Clerk; Police Chief Gary Giannotta; Eileen Iannone, Secretary to the Mayor.

Work Session –
Skateboard Transportation Issue Discussion
Chief Giannotta reviewed a proposed ordinance allowing skateboarders to use skateboards as transportation similar to bicycles.  He handed out copies of the City of Ithaca ordinance.  Council discussed.

Chief Giannotta also gave and update on plans for the Memorial Day parade.

Public to be heard –
Connie Laxton, mother of skateboarder, updated Council on skateboard park fundraising efforts and thanks Council for considering proposed ordinance.

Joe Nash, Cherry St. Auburn, spoke to encourage Council to consider the Chief’s proposal regarding skateboarding.

Other Business –  
Councilor Hunter commented on the choice of days for this meeting.

Mayor Lattimore asked the Clerk to read an article from the Watertown newspaper entitled “Aubertine introduces Assembly legislation to ratify Indian gaming compact with State.”  He then commented on it.

Council adjourned to executive session at 5:45PM and returned at 5:58PM.

Adjournment – Meeting adjourned at 6:00PM.
